Installation Video:

Step 1: Preparation

• First, prepare a dust-free and flat working space to install your Skinomi TechSkin™. Any dust, pet hair, lint, and other debris found in your workspace can contaminate the sticky side of the film during installation. To prevent this, find and create a clean environment before installation.

• Wash your hands thoroughly before handling the device and screen. This will help lessen the risk of leaving fingerprints and other residue on the Skinomi protector.

• Next, turn off your device. If possible, remove the battery as well. In the case of devices where the battery is embedded or not removable (such as the Apple iPhone 5 or Nokia Lumia 920), turning off your device is sufficient.

*REMEMBER that after installation, your new screen protector will need time to cure, set, and properly clear up. We highly recommend night time installation before sleeping or whenever it would be convenient to leave your device off for a few hours.

Step 2: Application

• Apply some installation solution onto your microfiber cloth. Wipe your device thoroughly to rid it of any streaks, oil, dust, or grime. Once you are satisfied with your device's cleanliness, lay it down on your flat, clean work-area.

• Identify the cutouts on the TechSkin™ pieces and where they fit by comparing the pieces with the actual device. Watch out for cuts for front-facing cameras, light/proximity sensors, and speakers. Carefully match them up with your device. Each Skinomi TechSkin™ protector is custom-designed to fit your device.

• Next, take out your installation solution. This installation solution is very safe and non-toxic. It is designed to help prevent fingerprints, microbubbles, and imperfections. This is a soapy type of solution and will not damage your device or leave sticky residue when used properly.

• Apply a little installation solution onto your fingers before handling the TechSkin™ pieces. Do not handle the screen directly if your fingers are dry. Touching the back portion of your screen with dry fingers will leave unwanted fingerprints.

• Apply an even layer of installation solution onto the non-sticky side of the screen protector. This will reduce friction between the film and the installation squeegee or card, and prevent the screen from stretching or warping.

• Carefully lift a corner from the film protector piece until it is completely removed. Then, apply another even layer of solution onto the sticky back side of the film. Make sure you have an even and COMPLETE layer of installation solution on the back of the screen protector.

• At this point, carefully place your Skinomi protector onto the device. If done correctly, the film should slide freely on the surface of the device. This should make alignment easy.

STOP: If your film is improperly aligned, this is the time to remove it and repeat the steps above. Make sure that the film protector is still moist and has not started settling onto the device. Removing the film after the adhesive side has dried will cause it to stretch, misalign, or deform.

• If somehow, you cannot easily move your protector around, you may need to reapply an additional thin coat of installation solution. If so, carefully lift a small corner off your device and spray more solution.

Step 3: Perfection

• Once you are satisfied with the alignment, use one hand to hold down the film to prevent it from moving. With your other free hand, use the installation squeegee to remove solution from your device. Gently slide the squeegee from the center of the film towards the sides.

*AVOID pushing the solution and bubbles into the cutouts, holes, or buttons on the device.

• Next, take your microfiber cloth and review your screen and device one more time by lightly patting and soaking up any excess solution from your screen and device. If you see any large bubbles at this stage, you can still remove the Skinomi TechSkin™ and reapply another thin coat of solution as long as it has not completely dried up.

• Remember that after installation, you may see micro-bubbles under your screen. Do not be alarmed, as this is perfectly normal. As the screen protector starts to set onto your device, it will start to clear up. Allow up to 2 to 3 days for the microbubbles to completely disappear. However, larger bubbles and larger devices may take a bit longer to clear up.

• We recommend letting your device set for about 12-24 hours if possible. As mentioned earlier, this is a recommendation. If you can't go without a few hours device-less, please install the protector at night, preferably before heading to bed. In the morning, your Techskin™ should be safely set and ready to protect your device!

Helpful Tips:

*Perform installation in a clean and dust free environment for best results.

*For difficult edges or rounded corners, allow about 15-30 minutes for the installation solution to dry up. You may also use a blow dryer on a LOW/COOL setting to dry and heat the area on the film. Once dried, wrap the film around the device and press down on the film for about 30 seconds. This should rid the film of most solution and make it easier to tack down.

*Keep in mind that the adhesive is not dissolved by the solution. Pieces that won't stick will only get more slippery if more solution is added onto it.

*Please understand that Skinomi TechSkins™ allow gas to escape during the settling process. This means the clarity and quality of your protector will improve over time.

*If you have any left-over film, please carefully place them in a clean plastic bag. Do not store the film facing other film pieces, or they will stick together.

WARNING: As with any electronic device, exposing yours to excessive water or fluids may cause the device harm. Skinomi will not be responsible for any damage to the device caused by excessive water or improper installation of TechSkin™.

Removal Instructions for Screen Protectors and Skins

• Much like removing a sticker, carefully lift off edge of the film adhered onto the device using your fingers.

*DO NOT peel off whole TechSkin™ film piece in one motion.

• Carefully use a blow-dryer on low or medium setting to soften the film and loosen the adhesive. This will ease the process of peeling the skin.

• Slowly peel the film back halfway towards the center while the warm air from the blow dryer is simultaneously softening the adhesive.

• Repeat steps 1, 2 and 3 to the other corners and edges until the whole Skinomi TechSkin™ piece has been completely taken off your device.

Helpful Tips:

*Removing Skinomi Techskins™ properly won't leave sticky residue. However, in case residue is present, you can rub it off cleanly with your hands.
